Anime NYC is back for 2025, one of the east coast’s biggest anime/manga conventions. It ’s taking place at the world famous Jacob Javits Center in New York City for 4 days.

In our view, the convention has three big themes, starting with the first, cosplay. This hugely popular activity gains Anime NYC’s support with scene setups for photo ops, a cosplay repair area and even meetup schedules for costume plays of top titles like Dragonball and Naruto. The big feature is the Cosplay Masquerade contest where prizes are awarded for the best cosplays and performances.

Second, there’s major programming and panels that include industry and musical guests from Japan that offer live performances and world premieres. Of course, not to be outdone, there are talents in the voice acting world and pop culture organizations on this side of the pond too, like Maid cafes and even libraries that want to feature manga literature.

Third, there’s a much bigger video game presence with the participation of Play NYC, New York’s premiere gaming event that showcases indie developers and smaller studios. So not only do you get to play coin-op-type games from Japan, but you get to check out emerging indie games in development too!

It’s a 2-in-1 convention, you can’t lose!
