Turtle Beach Stealth for Play Station Now Available
Finally available for Play Station gamers is the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen2 Max and the Stealth 600 Gen2 Max. The Xbox version came out first, and now both Xbox & PS consoles can enjoy the full wireless experience of this awesome headset!
I was initially puzzled. Why would Turtle Beach do this if the Xbox version already worked on Play Station? Careful consideration lead me to conclude that most people (non-techies) will most likely make a purchase based on box color (green for Xbox, blue for PS) to be 100% sure that it works for their console – rather than have it NOT work and have to return it. Or… it could be a licensing issue.
In my video review of the Stealth 700 Gen2 Max (Xbox version), I state that “the box says designed for Xbox – but don’t let that fool you, because this [also] connects to Play Station, Nintendo Switch, your PC…” So if you watched it or read the fine print on the box, you’d know it works for both.
Ironically, I’m hearing over the grapevine that this new PS version doesn’t work with Xbox.
Like “Huh? What gives?”
Lesson learned:
Buy the green box. It’s the best choice for people who own both consoles, because
- It works for both consoles (and PC)
- It’s $20 cheaper right now on sale
