Stapelstein Original are bowl-shaped “Stepping Stones” that can float, stack, spin and balance. They’re made of non-toxic and durable EPP (expandable polypropylene, a kind of foam) and are a lot of fun to play and learn with when it comes to physical movement and sound.

They’re available in various colors, sizes and can be used on land or water. In addition to the Original, there’s also:

  • Board – a circular balance board (looks like an upside-down UFO)
  • Inside – different sized, nested bowls (like a Russian Matryoshka doll-in-a-doll)
  • The Original supports up to ~400 lbs
  • The Inside supports up to ~110 lbs
  • The Board supports up to ~250 lbs

They’re a lot more fun than you think; I was surprised at the number of activities one could think up with these, and certainly a fun alternative to watching television.
