Razor C25 Prototype E-Scooter -Sneak Peek! (Toy Fair 2020)
Back to: Toy Fair 2020 Main Page (Jacob Javits Center, NYC – Feb 2020)
This is Razor’s new prototype e-scooter codenamed C25, which looks to be designed for urban commuting (if size has anything to do with it.)
Not much is known about this model – except for what we’re told:
It’s got a headlight
It’s got a brakelight
It’s got a huge pneumatic tire
It’s got a newly designed deck
My Analysis:
There are many similarities, and quite a number of improvements. One of the biggest changes is the location of the power button (or it could be the headlight button) and the read-out display. It sits between the handlebars for easy access to battery levels and what looks to be a speedometer. On the current line of E Primes, the power and battery levels are at the base of the board. So this’ll beat having to bend down to power the unit on and off.
What IS similar are the thumb throttle & brakes, a rear foot brake and kick stand. It looks to have an LED headlight, a rear brakelight and larger pneumatic tires than on the current E Prime line.
If the C25 is made for city riding, the biggest question now is collapsibility. It doesn’t share the same pull-pin fold design of the current E Primes, but if you look closely at the polebar above the wheel, it does appear to have some kind of hinge mechanism. There’s a whole bunch of other hardware around that area that I’m keen on, but I guess we’ll have to wait to see what they all do.
