Xgimi is #1 in consumer projectors in China and Japan (market share) where space is a luxury most people don’t have. Even their name means eXtreme Performance (X) in limited spaces (gimi), and they live up to that by packing extreme amounts of features in a small amount of space.

In Asia at least, projectors are used over monitors because bedrooms lack space for tables. And since many are gamers who are picky about specs, Xgimi does their best to accommodate with high resolution, fast refresh rates, and other areas of performance.

Here’s a quick rundown on the products they showcased:

Xgimi Aura 4K Laser Projector

Top-of-the-line, award winning premium product. Very short distance needed from the wall.

  • Ultra short-throw – 120” size screen when 11.7” (less than 1 foot!) away from the wall
  • Super clear, 4K resolution

This is Xgimi’s flagship home projector for movies and gaming. While you need more distance from the wall for a bigger image (vs the Aura laser projector), you get a higher quality image and lower latency for gaming.

It looks like a tall cube and has a 1/4”-20 tripod mount on the bottom. Small enough to be grabbed with one (large) hand with price around $750 US.

Xgimi’s most recent model; a 1080p portable, weighing only 2.5 lbs.
