News: Newly Redesigned Turtle Beach Recon 200 Gen 2 Headset
The nature of this beast is really interesting. It plugs in via 3.5mm plug, but uses battery power for enhanced bass and amplified soundstage in active mode. The great thing is, it’ll keep working even if you run out of power in “passive” mode, which is the standard sound you’d normally get. Battery life is rated for 12 hours.
The Recon 200 Gen 2 will work with practically any game system or device with a 3.5mm plug (PS5, Xbox X|S, Switch, smartphone, PC, etc). It’s got my favorite headset function; a flip-to-mute mic, and also comes with variable mic monitoring so you can hear yourself talk (to avoid shouting).
Despite the redesign and multitude of other new features, the price remains the same at $59.99. It’s available for pre-order and is launching September 19, 2021.
