SD Card News: Kingston Digital Canvas React Plus V60

It’s a new SD card for “cost conscious photo enthusiasts”. It’s actually pretty fast; 4K video should be no problemo (8k too, within reasonable frame and bit rates).

The big update with these cards are the second row of pins (the UHS-II bus interface). New gear can take advantage of them for faster read and write speeds. Think of it as another lane in a highway; instead of sharing 1 lane, there are now 2 lanes to let more cars through (in this case, more pictures and video data).

Kingston rates these cards at a read speed of 280MB/s max and write speeds of:

• 100MB/s max (for the 128GB card)
• 150MB/s max (for 256GB cards and bigger)

It’ll be available in 4 sizes with a “lifetime warranty”:
