Kotobukiya did not have a booth at last year’s 2025 Toy Fair, so there’s a lot going on you should know about, with 2 major pieces of news:

First, they now have an official US website where you can buy and pre-order figures directly from them (finally!) No more having to hunt around for third party distributors or shippers, where people have had problems with canceled orders and refunds.

Second, they have a new line of affordable figures called OSHI WORKS for “casual” collection. These figures are not meant to be put on a pedestal or a lit display case, so it’s a good place to start for beginner collectors.

They should match the size and quality of their ARTFX J line, but at approximately half the price (between $55-$75US as of 2026). The cost savings come from simpler designs (no crazy poses, facial expressions, etc) and a standard base plate – not of a sculpted one. What’s really interesting is the magnetic plate design where OSHI WORKS figures have magnetic feet and connect to the steel plated base. This means you can make interesting multi-figure arrangements, like back-to-back, face-to-face or arrow-head team poses.

OSHI WORKS figures shown in the video include:

  • Yu-Gi-Oh
  • Frieren
  • Silent Hill 2
  • Trigun Stampede

We also found Mega Man for sale on their website, in addition to the above.

Kotobukiya have found a nice sweet-spot of price vs design, where they try to give as much value as possible while keeping the quality high.

Young

Young is a Jack-of-many-trades. He's lived/worked on several continents for all sorts of companies (and has had his own too.) He meditates with origami and likes coffee, though he really should lay off that stuff.
