Sometimes I think conventions are created just to make you tired. So it’s always a relief when someone (in this case, Ito En) acknowledges this and provides a quiet place for the body and mind to relax and recharge.

If you’re not aware, Ito En is a Japanese company best known for its green teas. At Anime NYC, their Tranquili-Tea Lounge provided a peaceful space for tired travelers while serving up some of their best teas – for free! You’re also welcome to try your luck at winning free swag; spin the wheel and you might land yourself a pin, stickers, tote bags or plush.

For the main event, the good people at Ito En brewed refreshing, cold tea of different types daily. The luckiest visitors were able to try Shincha, the first harvest of tea that is collected every spring and sold in the summer a few months after they’re picked. Since they’re only grown in certain regions of Japan because of climate (this year’s batch was from Kagoshima in the south west), there’s a limit to the supply.

Limited Edition Oi Ocha Tea

As a special item for 2026 to celebrate Shohei Ohtani’s record breaking 63 home runs in 2025, Ito En has released 55 Oi Ocha green tea bottles designed from moments during his in-season baseball games.

These limited edition bottles are numbered by home run and game date, with hand illustrated moments of Ohtani from the actual game. So if you were at an actual game where he hit a home run or watched it on tv, you might remember him doing these actions as shown on the bottles.

In addition to the 55 bottles, there’s an Amazon exclusive post-season collection too. 8 additional illustrations that come in a thinner, taller bottle shape (like those sold in Japan) are available.

So in total, you can collect 63 illustrated Shohei Ohtani Oi Ocha tea bottles; or if you’re not a collector, simply enjoy some refreshing tea and recognize Ohtani’s great achievements.
