* Metal Build and Metal Robot by Tamashii Nations
Some die-cast metal has been swapped with clear plastic to show the inner workings of those parts – for display only. Both Metal lines include a stand.

Bandai Namco has a lot of new Gunpla models for 2026 from high end metal builds to fun and cute figures like Pajamars and Mix-and-match Cross.

The video starts with the different grades of Gunpla, from smallest and cheapest SD (Standard) to largest and most detailed PGU (Perfect Grade Unleashed). This establishes the size and price range of the latest figures shown. Also of note is that Tamashii Nations makes a lot of the intricate stuff, like the Metal and Gundam Universe figures.

The latest Tamashii Nations Metal Build (slated for July) include the new Barbatos (4th form), which show moving hydraulic pistons at the waist and shoulder as you pose it, plus it comes with oodles of accessories and a wired cloth cape that you can shape however you want. Barbatos comes with a stand (as all Metal Build and Metal Robot lines do).

As an added bonus, Bandai went out of their way to make see-through display versions of a Freedom Gundam Metal Build and Wing Gundam Metal Robot to showcase the inner workings of their die-cast parts. Clear plastic pieces were fabricated just for this purpose so you could see what the actual metal parts would look like – they were VERY cool. We sort of wish these came with it also, maybe as an add-on or something.

The latest Tamashii Nations Gundam Universe figures will start with two new ones, the Unicorn RX-0 and Unicorn MSN-06S Sinanju that are super affordable at $35 and have more articulation points than previous figures.

There are several lines of chibi style figures, starting with the 2nd volume of YuRuGun, where Gundams are chilling and lazing around. Then there’s the Gundam Seed Pajamars with Gundam pilots wearing adorable mecha hoodie pajamas. Then there’s Gundam Cross, which allow some parts to be mixed-and-matched between the mech and pilots, like the head or a few head pieces.

Much like Gundam Cross, Gundam Miximize is a mech-only and non-chibi version of mix-and-match with way more pieces. This can be a lot of fun; you can play at fixing up a damaged Gundam with spare parts found from enemy mechs.

Finally, Bandai has their very first Gundam Assemble Table Top Game (TTG) coming October of 2026. It comes with board, miniature models (that you paint yourself, like with model kits), tokens, cards, dice, game handbook and everything else you need to play the game. MSRP is $35US.
