In a new twist, 3Doodler‘s app lets you 3D print right on your tablet’s screen! Since their Start printing pen isn’t hot enough to cause damage, you can freely draw on your tablet using the stencils provided.

ALPHA DUDES

It’s almost like creating your own action figure. Using the Alpha Dude as a template, you can 3D print their faces, clothes, hair and create accessories for them to hold or hats to wear. The kit includes a mould for easy creation of accessories.

ROBO SUMOS

We’re told these are a kind of “secret STEM” learning kit where kids can build their own creatures with the aim of pushing out opponents in a ring. The great thing is, if what they create doesn’t succeed, they can 3D print on additional bits “in-between bouts” in an effort to improve on their design mechanics and try again.

The Robo Sumo kit comes with a small vibrating motor to allow this movement to happen, but the results ultimately boils down to the design of the person creating it.

Young is a Jack-of-many-trades. He's lived/worked on several continents for all sorts of companies (and has had his own too.) He meditates with origami and likes coffee, though he really should lay off that stuff.
