HyperX Cloud II Wireless Gaming Headset (Pepcom 2020)
Back to: Pepcom Holiday Spectacular 2020 Main Page (Oct 2020)
The HyperX Cloud II Wireless builds on the best of the Cloud II wired headset with the softest comfort and durable materials like metal frame and fork.
The 7.1 surround sound audio is tuned for gaming and great music through its 53mm drivers. Most importantly however, the headset is designed not to lag. Since you can’t game with audio lag, HyperX addresses this by using a 2.4gHz wireless connection instead of Bluetooth. The flip side of this means you can’t use the Cloud II Wireless with smartphones (for that, you need something like the Cloud Mix.)
Chat with gaming collaborators or even your school teacher (for online learning) on the detachable mic, and use it for up to 30 hours before you have to recharge.
Technical specs are as follows:
- Lag free 2.4gHz wireless headset (via USB dongle)
- Battery: up to 30 hours
- 7.1 surround sound for bigger soundstage
- signature memory foam with premium leatherette
- 53mm drivers with enhanced bass
- On-ear controls
- detachable mic w/LED mute indicator
- Mic monitoring with NGenuity software
HyperX does more than just make gaming gear. They put a lot of effort into supporting different industries like music and sports (in addition to e-sports), like having Post Malone host a game stream for his fans or have a couple of pro basketball players play with (or against) sports fans. They’re also doing activies with colleges and universities, and beginning to do things in high schools too.
First availability will be on the HyperX website in the US for $149.99. At this price, the Cloud II Wireless offers best in category in battery life, weight (it’s the lightest) and largest driver size. The only thing it doesn’t seem to have are flashing lights – which is fine by us.
