The Lenovo Explorer is a mixed reality VR headset that works with Microsoft’s Windows 10. The latest version of Windows, called the Fall Creator’s Edition, contains the Windows Reality Platform and gives you access to compatible apps on their store. It may seem similar, but unlike the Jedi Challenge AR game that Lenovo recently launched, this one isn’t a standalone system.

The headset has a resolution of 1440 x 1440 for each eye and has an adjustable knob to help you get a good fit over your head. It can flip upwards when you want to see the real world without removing the headset.

The Inside-Out tracking allows for easy setup without any additional hardware – it only requires plugging in an HDMI and USB cable for the full VR experience. But that alone won’t help you move around. You’ll need motion controllers (the kit comes with them) and for the smoothest experience, you’ll need a discrete video card such as the Nvidia GTX 1050 TI and up.

Entry price for the Lenovo Explorer is $349 at time of writing. Watch the video for more info!
